On February 2, 2026, members of the Dodson High School Student Council had the unique opportunity to attend the Fort Belknap Tribal Council meeting at the Tribal Council Chambers. The students joined Council President Randall Werk Sr., Vice-President Alan Bigby, Secretary-Treasurer Audena Wing, and other Tribal Council members in a collaborative session focused on community initiatives and shared concerns.
During the meeting, the Student Council was able to ask questions, provide input, and work alongside council members to discuss initiatives impacting both the school and the broader community. The agenda included the usual call to order, roll call, and approval of past meeting minutes, as well as presentations from students and administrators of Harlem, Hays/LP, and Dodson Public Schools, providing a platform for students to engage directly in educational and civic matters.
This experience gave Dodson students a valuable opportunity to strengthen civic engagement, practice leadership, and build partnerships with tribal leaders while contributing to solutions for common challenges. Student Council members left the meeting inspired to bring back ideas and initiatives that will benefit their peers and the school community.
